Alexandra Citrin is an interdisciplinary illustrator and art director based in NYC. You can call her Alex. Everyone does.
These days, Alex is working primarily out of her studio as an illustrator while taking on freelance art direction projects. She was previously the deputy art director at Time Out New York and art director of Time Out Kids before moving on to work as a freelance art director for Women's Wear Daily. She is currently freelancing as the editorial art director for Refinery29.
Alex specializes in editorial design, print design, working with other illustrators, and producing high-end work on DIY-level budgets. As an illustrator, clients include Playboy, Nylon, Refinery29, New York Magazine, Lenny Letter, Taste, the Baltimore Museum of Art, Hopes & Fears, WWD, Electric Literature, Urban Outfitters, Diner Journal, Politico, Northside Media, Vice, Swarthmore College, The New School, and the New York Observer.
Alex is also a visiting professor in the ComD department at the Pratt Institute.
